Vecom, a specialist in metal surface treatment provided a comprehensive electropolishing service to several companies who supplied equipment such as seating, flooring and glazing products to the Jubilee Line Extension.
Jeff Aylott MD of the Barnsley-based Vecom commented, "The desirable features of stainless steel are all subject to the care taken during fabrication. Often damage can occur from manufacturing techniques such as welding, bending, grinding and machining. Proper surface preparation 's particularly important, in architectural work as corrosion has to be avoided ."

He went on to say, "Electropolishing of stainless steel is the ultimate surface preparation. By specifying, the client is ensuring that not only has the stainless steel been through every process to restore the features expected of the material, but is also guaranteed that the surface is enhanced to the highest quality resulting in a bright uniform finish.
